Do You Need A Calming Essential Oil Roller?

Do you experience stress or anxiety? Do you sometimes have trouble relaxing and unwinding after a difficult day? Or perhaps you have a child who is anxious, or struggling to regulate their emotions. A calming essential oil roller is a great way to help bring some calm to the crazy in your life.

I primarily use this calming essential oil roller for my oldest daughter. She is an extreme type A personality who doesn’t always enjoy the chaos that a family of seven sometimes endures. She’s also prepubescent and can sometimes have difficulty regulating her emotions. This calming essential oil roller is something that she can use anytime she’s feeling overwhelmed or anxious to help her stay calm.

It’s very easy to make, so let’s dive in!

what you’ll need

  • An essential oil roller tube. I buy mine here.
  • A carrier oil of choice. I prefer almond oil or fractionated coconut oil, but any carrier oil will suffice.
  • Your calming essential oils. I use a blend of lavender, grapefruit, mandarin, and tangerine. There are a variety of calming essential oils that can be used though so feel free to use what you have on hand or favorites that you already have. Check out my favorite essential oil company here

directions

Assembling your essential oil roller is a piece of cake and will take you less than 5 minutes.

  1. Add 8 mL of your carrier oil to your essential oil roller tube.
  2. For the blend of oils I use for my “kid calm” version add 8 drops of lavender, 3 drops of grapefruit, 3 drops of mandarin, and 3 drops of tangerine. For an adult version you can increase your drops of essential oils to 12 drops of lavender, 6 drops of mandarin, 6 drops of grapefruit, and 6 drops of tangerine.
  3. Attach the top of the roller and apply as needed to you wrists, forehead, or neck.

That’s it! Super simple and quick to make. Use your roller any time you feel anxious, on edge, or angry to help restore your calm.

Final Thoughts

Not all oils are safe for children, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or people with certain conditions. You should check the safety of each oil before using it to ensure that it’s safe for your intended use. It’s also very important to properly dilute essential oils with a carrier oil. If you need help with dilution check out this dilution chart from Simply Earth. For our kids we typically use a 1% dilution. For myself or my husband we use 2-3% depending on the oil and the intended use. If you ever have any concerns or questions you should seek out the advice of an aromatherapist.
